Privacy policy

Last updated

Shyview has no accounts and no sign-up. Analytics run only if you accept them. Here is what we record, why, and for how long.

Who we are

Shyview runs the website at getunfollowerstracker.com. Write to us at support@getunfollowerstracker.com about anything on this page.

What we don't collect

What we do record

Your IP address, briefly

When you search, our server counts requests per IP address. That count is how we enforce a fair-use limit and decide when to show a bot check. The counters delete themselves: after 10 minutes for the search limit, after 5 minutes for the bot-check threshold, and an hour after you pass a check. They hold a number, not what you searched for.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web server writes a log line per request: IP address, the page asked for, the time and your browser's name. We read these only to fix errors and stop abuse. The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Public Instagram data

To answer a search, we pass the username to the data providers that fetch the account's public content: the profile, stories, highlights, posts and reels. We keep a copy for a few minutes up to 7 days, depending on how often that kind of content changes, so the next search for the same account is fast. Preview images can stay on our server longer, until they are cleaned up. The copy is stored under the account's username. It is never linked to you or to your IP address.

Own a public account and want it cleared from our cache sooner? Email us the username and we'll delete every cached copy of it within 7 days. Making the account private stops it from appearing at all.

Analytics, only if you accept

On your first visit a banner at the bottom of the page asks whether we may use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Until you press Accept, neither is loaded: your browser does not contact Google or Microsoft for them, and they set no cookies. If you press Decline, that stays true on every page.

Google Analytics 4 (Google)

Counts visits so we can see which pages and viewers people use. It records the pages you open (without the username you searched), the page you came from, your device type, browser, screen size, language and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address. It also records three actions on our pages:

It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_J0023BWP37, holding a random ID, and we set them to expire after 13 months. Google signals and ad personalisation are off. We keep Google Analytics data for 2 months, the shortest period Google offers.

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft)

Shows us how pages are used so we can fix what gets in the way. It records clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement and turns them into session recordings and heatmaps, along with the address of each page, your device, browser and approximate location. On a result page the address contains the username you searched. What you type into the search box and the search results are hidden in recordings. Clarity sets two cookies holding a random ID: _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day). Microsoft keeps recordings for 30 days unless we save one, and the rest of Clarity's data for up to 13 months.

Your choice and how to change it

Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage on this device, not in a cookie, and is never sent to us. To change it, open Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. If you switch to Decline, we delete the Google Analytics and Clarity cookies on this site and reload the page, and neither runs again. Clearing this site's data in your browser also resets your choice, and the banner asks again. Data sent before you declined stays with Google and Microsoft until the periods above run out. It is tied to the random ID in those cookies, not to your name.

Cloudflare

The site sits behind Cloudflare, which carries every request to us and protects the service from attacks. If you run many searches in a short time, we show Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from bots. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser signals to do this and may set security cookies that the check needs. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Who else sees data

We don't sell or rent data to anyone, and we don't share it for advertising.

Children

The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your choices

We keep no account or profile about you, so there is nothing of that kind to download or delete. If you think we hold something about you, write to us and we'll look into it.

Changes

If what we record changes, we'll update this page first and change the date at the top. If we add another analytics service, the banner asks you again. The terms of use cover the rest of how the site may be used.
