Instagram Highlights Viewer

Open the story collections a public account keeps on its profile, play each one in order, and save any item you want.

They aren't notified and your name isn't on their viewer list: we fetch public content via a data provider, with no Instagram login.

How to watch highlights without an account

Four steps from a username to a saved file. The two plates were captured from this viewer on a phone.

  1. Step 1: Enter the account

Type the username, with or without the @, or paste a profile link. Tap View and the highlights load under the profile card.

  2. Step 2: Choose a collection

Each highlight appears as a round cover with its title underneath. Tap one and its ring changes color while the items load.

  3. Step 3: A photo plays full screen

The highlight opens on its oldest item, with the collection's title at the top. A photo stays up until you move on, with Save right below it.

  4. Step 4: Videos come with a sound button

Further into the same highlight, a video starts with the sound off. The speaker button next to Save turns the audio on, and Save downloads the clip as an MP4.

What the highlights viewer can and can't do

It can

  • Show the highlights pinned to a public profile, with covers and titles
  • Play every item in a highlight full screen, from oldest to newest
  • Play videos with sound once you tap the speaker button
  • Download each photo as a JPG and each video as an MP4
  • Load an account from a pasted profile link or story link

It can't

  • Open the highlights of a private account
  • Show highlights on a profile that hasn't pinned any
  • Show who else has viewed a highlight or a story
  • Save a whole highlight in one tap; each item saves alone
  • Show a new highlight until our saved copy refreshes

Questions people ask

Short answers about privacy, limits and saving files. The full FAQ covers every tool. Something not covered? Write to us.

How is a highlight different from a story?

A story is removed 24 hours after it's posted. A highlight is a collection of earlier stories pinned to the profile, and it stays until the owner takes it down. The full timeline is in how long Instagram stories last.

Will the owner see that I watched their highlight?

No. The highlight reaches you through our server and a data provider, with no Instagram account involved, so no name can appear among its viewers. For highlights watched inside Instagram, see can people see when you view their highlights on Instagram.

Why does it say “No highlights”?

The account hasn't pinned any stories to its profile. If you expected some, check the spelling of the username.

Can I download a highlight?

Yes, one item at a time. Move to the photo or video you want and tap Save. You get the JPG or MP4 file Instagram serves.

Can I save a whole highlight at once?

No. Each item has its own Save button, and since every file name includes the posting time, the files line up in the highlight's order.

Can I tell when an item was first posted?

The player shows no date, but the saved file's name carries the date and time the item went up, in UTC.

Does a highlight play through on its own?

Videos move on when they end. A photo stays until you tap the right side, swipe, or press the right arrow key.

Why is a highlight they just added missing?

We keep the list of highlights for about six hours and their items for about twelve. A new collection turns up on a later visit.

Can I see a private account?

No. We only show content that an account has made public. If an account is private, you'll see a note saying so and nothing else.

Do I need an Instagram account or the app?

No. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to connect. Type a username in the box and the results load on this page, in any browser.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It runs in Safari, Chrome or any other current browser, on a phone or a computer. There's nothing to install and no app to keep updated.

Why do I see “Slow down a little”?

Each IP address can make 60 requests to our servers in 10 minutes, and one search uses a few of them. The message says how long to wait. If you search a lot in a short time we may also ask for a quick check that you're a person.

What a highlight is, and how this viewer gets it

  1. 01Your browserSends the username you typed. No login, no account of yours.
  2. 02Our serverAnswers from its copy if it has a recent one, or asks the provider.
  3. 03Data providerReceives the username only, never who asked for it.
  4. 04InstagramGets the provider's request. Your account and name are not in it.
One search, left to right. The answer travels back the same way to this page; your name never enters it.

A highlight is a set of past stories the owner chose to keep. Ordinary stories leave Instagram after a day, while a highlight stays pinned under the bio until the owner deletes it.

When you search, our server asks a data provider for the account's public highlights. Each collection comes back with its cover and title. Its items load only when you open it.

The provider receives a username or a highlight ID and nothing about who asked. No Instagram account is signed in on our side, so opening a highlight here adds no view under your name.

Items play oldest first, each with its own Save button. The file name holds the username, the word highlight and the time the item first went up, like nasa_highlight_2026-03-14T09-05-00.jpg, so saved files keep the collection's order.

We keep an account's list of collections for about six hours and each collection's items for about twelve, so a highlight added this morning can take a few hours to appear. The table shows how long each result is kept.

Covers come first because they are small. Opening a collection is a second request, for the items inside it, and that answer is kept on its own clock, so the next visitor who opens the same highlight gets it straight from our copy.

Videos play through our server as well, streamed from the file Instagram serves, with the sound off until you turn it on. When a video ends the next item starts. A photo waits for a tap, a swipe or an arrow key.

Why people open highlights here

On many profiles the highlights work as a reference shelf.

Reading a restaurant's menu

Cafes keep menus, specials and opening hours in highlights. You can check them before you book, without a follow.

Finding a creator's FAQ

Creators pin answers to the questions they get every week, like the gear they film with. Reading the highlight beats sending a message and waiting.

Planning a trip

Travel accounts often sort highlights by city. A collection called Lisbon shows real streets, hotels and places to eat before you plan your route.

Checking a small shop

Independent sellers pin customer feedback, shipping details and size charts. A look through them helps you decide before you pay.

Keeping a recipe or a tutorial

A recipe spread over many story frames is easier to follow once saved. Save each item and the file names keep the steps in order.

Checking an event's details

Festivals and conferences pin lineups, maps and schedules. You can look them up from any browser, signed in to nothing.
